This particular James Moriarty is based on The Hound of the D'Urbervilles by Kim Newman, a novel adaptation of Sherlock Holmes as told from the perspective of Colonel Sebastian Moran. While I take a large amount of his characterization from this book, I do adapt him slightly to play him from a modern era. Not to be confused with BBC Sherlock's Jim, this Professor is a bit more collected and put together, older, and more reserved. And a bit more frightening of a person, a bit more calculating, more of the older Professor Moriarty as presented in Arthur Conan Doyle's canon and Kim Newman's adaptation.
